The 4th Asian and Pacific Rim Symposium of Biophotonics (APBP) will be held in Jeju, Korea, from 25 - 27 May, 2009.

The purpose of this meeting is to plan the WG7 (Photonics Education, Training and Research Infrastructure) contribution to new the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA).  

DGaO (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Angwandte Optik) and SIOF (Società Italiana di Oottica e Fotonica), the German and the Italian Branches of the EOS, will hold a joint meeting (DGaO Annual Meeting 2009) in Brescia, Italy, from 2 - 5 June, 2009.

Aims and Contents
With a two day congress centered around the topics of optics and photonics the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT and Innolite GmbH offer a forum of information about current perspectives, technological innovations and new applications from industry and research on 18th and 19th of March 2009. The colloquium, which takes place every two years in Aachen, will focus on three topics:

• Strategy and Markets
• Technology and Production
• Products and Innovation

Many high-level contributors promise a presentation of current developments and trends.

At LASER World of PHOTONICS China 2008, 206 exhibitors presented their products and applications on 11,500 sqm of floor space at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). 18.428 visitors attended the show.
