Transmission of light
The optics and microoptics business unit of JENOPTIK develops and produces optical and coated optical components, modules and sub-systems for the precise measurement, analysis, structuring and processing by using light:
- Precision spherical and aspherical surfaces, prisms and plano-optics.
- Interference filters and custom coatings.
- Laser components and modules from IR through VUV.
- Crystal optics in Steeg & Reuter tradition.

Generation of light
The lasers business unit of JENOPTIK develops and produces advanced laser beam sources like diode-pumped solid-state lasers, red-green-blue (RGB) and short pulse lasers. Performance and design are matched to a whole variety of applications in science, industry, medicine as well as show and display:
- Diode-pumped solid-state lasers for laser marking, trimming, welding, for exposing of plastics and applications in medical engineering.
- High-power diode laser systems for plastics welding and selective soldering.
- RGB lasers for large-area projection and laser show applications.
- Lasers of extra high beam quality for micromaterial processing and film cutting.

Measuring with light
The sensor systems business unit of JENOPTIK develops and produces sensors for contactless measurement of length and velocity. A further focus is the development of thermography cameras, digital cameras for microscopy and macroscopy, and professional studio photography:
- CCD cameras for scientific photography and professional studio photography.
- Laser distance measuring sensors for industrial applications.
- Length and velocity measuring equipment for industrial production.
