Concertation Meeting - Nano-Photonics

Location:
Grand Hotel Baglioni, Florence Italy
Duration:
11 February 2009 - 12 February 2009

The Concertation Meeting - Nano-Photonics will take place in Florence, Italy, from 12th - 13th February 2009.

The next concertation event will bring together the Photonics related projects funded under the ICT Thematic Priority. The event would take place on the 12th – 13th February 2009 in Florence organized by CNR – The National Research Council of Italy, Department of Materials and Devices. This event concentrates on Nanophotonics.

The event is in principle open to any member of the European Photonics community. Participants from the Photonics related projects funded under the ICT Thematic Priority will be allowed to charge their costs of participation on their project budget. The organizer might ask you for a financial contribution in the order of 150 €– 180 € to cover costs for the rental of the meeting facilities, catering and local transport.

The event comprises a forum on nanophotonic roadmaps, scientific presentations by young scientists on recent results in nanophotonics research, a forum on converting research results into an application, a presentation on the scope of the upcoming ICT call for proposals on Organic Photonics and Other Disruptive Photonic Technologies and an update on proposal submission and evaluation. The event is also an opportunity for bilateral discussions between project representatives. Finally, there will be a guided tour of the three CNR groups in Florence: IFAC – Institute of Applied Physics, INOA – Institute of Applied Optics, and LENS – European Laboratory of Nonlinear Spectroscopy. The agenda, as well as any other information related to the concertation meeting, are available on Cordis. We expect the scientific presentations to be given by young researchers, focusing on recent breakthroughs in nanophotonics of interest for a wider audience.

The event will take place ate the Grand Hotel Baglioni. We have made arrangements with the hotel to reserve rooms at a preferential rate of 132€ for a double room, 120€ for a single room. You are responsible for making your own booking. When contacting the hotel please identify yourself as a participant to the concertation meeting and quote the reference CNR or CONCERTATION MEETING. In your email please do not forget to mention the dates of arrival and departure, the number of persons per room

For practical details about the venue and accommodation, please contact Dr. Stefano Pelli (+39.055.522.63.93, s.pelli@ifac.cnr.it) or Dr. Silvia Soria (s.soria@ifac.cnr.it) at the local host. We would appreciate if you could confirm your participation to Dr. Gustav Kalbe (gustav.kalbe@ec.europa.eu, tel: +32.2.296.34.63) and register to the event: the meeting itself, the conference dinner, guided tour of the 3 CNR labs. For any additional clarification you may need on the meeting do not hesitate to contact Dr. Gustav Kalbe.
