ACCORD Workshop

10th April 2008 - 10th April 2008
Strasbourg, France

ACCORD – Advanced Components Cooperation for Optoelectronics Research and Development

Beginning in September 2006 and running for 3 years, ACCORD’s purpose is to:

  • Purchase at marginal cost pre-competitive photonic devices from innovative European companies and put them in the hands of European researchers and students, at no net cost to the university or to the company that furnished the devices and
  • Facilitate transfer of device evaluation results to potential end-users, assisting companies to access new markets and new applications

This workshop will give an overview of the projects arising from the first call for components and the successful R&D proposals. Both Component suppliers and University researchers will give an insight into the projects.  They will also give their views on the scheme from the supplier and user perspective.  We hope this will encourage the submission of R&D proposals in 3rd Call. The timing is such that the second call for components will be completed (End March 2008) and the 3rd call for R&D proposals based on the components offered will open in mid April 2008.
